A convent and an adjoining church were erected here, dedicated to the Capuchins by Angela Crasso to welcome women wishing to live a cloistered life. This was the culmination of a course that began with a small house near Campo della Fava and which, with the growth in the number of adepts, forced her to use larger and larger structures, until the convent was built.
Although the convent was used as a hospice for a period during the 19th century, it was subsequently returned to the Capuchins. Along the quay area various paterae and effigies, as well as a classical capital:
