Here you can find the original carta marmorizzata: the marble paper that imitates the veins of stone and marble in various colors, now copied everywhere in Venice and around the world. Alberto Valese reinvented this technique which was perfected in Persia and Turkey. He still continues to make it following completely artisan methods learnt “in the field” and by research into traditional texts. The secred lies in tracing the desired shapes with thick paints on the surface of water or gelatin using various tools and then absorb the “drawn” pigment into the paper.

In the shop you can find his artistic paper applied to objects for the writing desk, for decorating the home as well as clothing accessories in printed silk.
