The square is dedicated to St. John the Beheaded (San Zan Degolà ), whose church was built around 1000 and gradually renewed during the centuries.

The church has been a parrish for a long time until the early 1800's, then it passed under San Giacomo dell'Orio. In the square you can also see a classic well head 

and the head of St. John's set into the wall of the church
